More Handkerchief Wedding Invites

My best friend Hannah married her best friend Ralf this year, and they commissioned us to design and make some invites for them. Here's the results...

If you're interested in commissioning us to create bespoke vintage handkerchief wedding invitations for you, please visit my new website amymellis.com.

Handkerchief Wedding Invitations

Last year my cousin George from London, who lives in Seattle, got married to his lovely girlfriend Julie, who's from Connecticut so we wanted to get them a special gift for such a special wedding. When they suggested we might be able to help with the invites we knew just what we wanted to do, and that they'd love the idea too!
And so we became obsessed with tracking down the prettiest and laciest hankies to print with their invite.

They were pleased with the results and we were too. With the addition of their own wedding 'logo', incorporating Big Ben, at the Houses of Parliament in London, where they met, and The Space Needle in Seattle, where they live, we created a whole bunch of goodies for them!

If you're interested in commissioning us to create your very own hand screen printed vintage handkerchief wedding invites, please contact me at my new website amymellis.com and we'll send you more information.

And here's some of the other items we made for them for the big day!

Made in the Valley pop up shop

We've started a new venture with some local friends to sell our wares in Bridge Mill. Shop local, that's our motto!

It's the smallest shop in the valley, made of odd drawers and boxes. Here's some pix of Katch putting it together

which make it look bigger than it is...

that's more like it, breathe in folks...

We're in Bridge Mill, in the centre of lovely Hebden Bridge, come up and see us some time

Our new workplace

After our fourth move this year, we've finally settled into our new space in Bridge Mill! It's a lot bigger than our old one so we can do everything in one place now. We've had a sink plumbed in and we've inherited a huge work table, so there's no stopping us now!

The sink is actually a cattle trough - we are in the country after all!

Our trusty shelves, all tidy and well stocked with meticuously rolled fabric. For now...

The third Hebden Bridge RAG MARKET!

How fitting that our last post was just before the second Rag Market!

A marvellous time was had by all, including the brand new Hebden Bridge Women's Institute, who had a wonderful stall with delish cakes and little seedlings. The ladies from the WI that helped out were troopers, and the bunting was truly something to behold!
And the Rag Hag was in attendance, what more could you ask for?!

Check out that bunting!

There was tea and cakes, complete with vintage china and cute little tablecloths!

our new tea towels!

these are our new tea towels which we have hand screen printed in Hebden Bridge. The images are of three of the peg dolls we've made. They're made in Accrington, Lancashire just down the road and we've used water based inks. So we've tried to stay as local and eco as we can. Hope you like them.
